You have got to be kidding me...

Yöllä oli tullut 10 senttiä lunta!! Mitä?!?! Mä olin jo ihan kevät fiilaireissa ja laitoin jo talvikengät kaappiin ja hanskat ja pipot pois!

Töissä ei ole kuin kourallinen ihmisiä mutta mun bussi oli vain vähän myöhässä ja nyt sitä sitten istutaan täällä! Sen yhden päivän kun olis voinut lintsata haha.

// It snowed 10 cm last night!!  What ?!?! I was already totally in spring mood and had put away my winter shoes and gloves and hats.

We are only with a few at work but of course my bus was only a little bit late and now I am sitting here. The one day I could have skipped hé... :-)

 

 

 

 

Celebrating women's day

Eilen oli kansainvälinen naisten päivä! Ei se ole mikään suuren maailman juhla ole kuten ystävänpäivä, mutta onhan se hauskaa että sitten voi sanoa miehekkeelle hyvällä mielellä että olis kiva et hemmoteltais :-) Kaksi hauskaa tapahtumaa jäi mieleen meinaa rautakauppa antoi -20% alennuksen kaikille naisille ja sitten Thalys antoi junalippuja 8 eurolla vain myös ainoastaan naisille. (Tänään sitten luin lehdestä että siitä oli tehty valitus, koska se on muka rasistista miehiä kohtaan.. Antoivat sitten alet miehille myös mutta kaikki 800 junalippua oli sit jo myyty.. haha)

Me tilattiin töissä lounaaksi pitsaa, ei kylläkään naisten päivän kunniaksi vaan sen kunniaksi että mun työharjottelu päättyi siellä. Se päättyi kyl pari viikkoa sitten, mutta odoteltiin sellasta päivää että pomo ei olis toimistossa ja perjantai oli siihen sitten täydellinen! Olikin pirun hyvää! Kaikki olivat ihan täpinöissään kun ne pitsat tuli ja aika nopeasti ne menikin parempiin suihin.

Illalla Kaija tuli kylään juhlistamaan tätä meidän yhteiseksi traditioksi muodustunutta päivää. En edes hassummin muistanut sitä tänä vuonna, mutta kiva sattuma :-) Angelo teki ruokaa, radiosta tuli hyvää musiikkia ja vaaleanpunaiset juomat virtasi koko illan. Meillä oli taas tosi hauskaa, voi vitsit sentään. Kiitos Kaija!! :-)

Tänään olen väsäillyt kotiläksyjä koko päivän meinaa ensi perjantaina täytyy palauttaa lopputyö ja sitten sekin on ohi.. En malta odottaa! Viel huomiseksi paljon tekemistä, mutta kyllä se tästä!

Kivaa lauantaita! 

// Yesterday was the international women's day! It's not celebrated enormously around the world like valentine's day, but I think it's fun to be able to say to your hubby that it would be nice to be spoiled! I saw two funny actions on the news where a hardware store gave all women -20% discount and Thalys sold train tickets for 8 EUR just for women. (Today I read on the newspaper that someone had made a claim cuz it was rasistic towards men, so then the men got the discount as well but sadly all the 800 tickets were already sold out.. haha)

We ordered pizza for lunch at work! Not cuz it was women's day no no, but to celebrate the end of my internship. It actually already ended a few weeks ago but we were waiting for the perfect moment when the boss was not in the office and this Friday was perfect for it :-)  It was really delicious! Everyone was so excited when the pizza's came and in no time they were alllll goooone.

In the evening Kaija came over to celebrate the women's day which is kind of a tradition already for us. Angelo cooked, good music on the radio and lots of pink drinks, perfect! We had really a great time, thanks Kaija! :-)

Today I've been doing my homework all day cuz next week Friday I have to give away my final piece at school and then it's done.. I can't wait! Lots to do tomorrow still but it'll be ok!

Proof of sun

Otin pari kuvaa aamulla ja illalla taivaasta että en vaan unohda loppuviikosta kun sataa, että kyllä se kevät sieltä tulee!! :-)

Olen saanut kolme haastetta jo enkä vielä ole saanut aikaiseksi vastata niihin mutta meinaan työstää niitä tässä viikolla aina kun on aikaa että saatte sitten ihmetellä mun vastauksia! 

//  I took a few pictures of the sky in the morning and in the evening  so I won't forget that the spring is coming when it starts to rain at the end of the week!

I've been challenged three times already but I haven't done the posts yet. I will work on those challenges during the week so maybe soon you can wonder my answers to them!

 

Spring is coming

Ensi viikolla on jo 15 astetta lämmintä ja aurinkokin meinaa tulla näyttäytymään! Ihanaa. Kevät on mahtavaa aikaa, mä tykkään! Aamulla on valoisaa kun lähtee töihin ja illalla myös kun tulee kotiin. Ai että valosta saa paljon energiaa :-)

Olin aamulla torilla Mellin kanssa ja sen jälkeen käveltiin ympäri kaupunkia. Kyl oli kiva kun ihmiset olivat iloisia ja kadut täynnä sunnuntaikävelijöitä. Me päädyttiin sitten merimieskirkolle teelle höpöttelemään ennen kuin kirkko aukesi ja ensimmäiset saunojat tunkivat sisälle. Mä sain vähän kaapintäytettäkin sieltä mukaan (maksoin tietty!). Ostin hernekeittoa, lonkeroa, riisi- ja perunapiirakoita, glögiä (alessa!) sekä suklaata. Nam :-) Kyl sinne kirkolle pitäis eksyä useammin kun ei se nyt niin kaukana ole. 

Ensi viikko onkin hirmu kiireinen... Täytyy käydä koulussa, mulla on seminaari sekä hammaslääkäri (yöks!). Onneksi viikonloppu tulee aina nopeasti nyt kun töissä on niin pirun kiireinen ni jos sitten keksis jotain kivaa rentouttavaa että on jotain mitä odottaa :-)

// Already 15 degrees next week and the sun is going to come out behind the clouds! Amazing. I really love spring. It's already light when I leave to work and it's still light when I return. I really get so much energy from light, unbelievable :-)

I went to the market this morning with Melli and then we walked arouned in the city. It was so nice to walk on the streets full of smiling people enjoying Sunday. We ended up at the seaman's church for some tea and a babble before the church opened and the first customers for the sauna came in. I also picked up some stuff for myself. I bought pea soup, long drink, rice and potatoe pies, mullet wine and chocolate (for the non-finns, these are very normal, Finnish products, and they are awesome). I should go more often cuz it really isn't that far away.

Next week I am ridiculously busy.. I will go to school, to a seminary and to the dentist (boooeeh..). Luckly the weekend comes fast cuz I have so much work to do at work and it's busy busy busy. I will just need to come up with something fun to look forward to next weekend :-)

Aqua sauna

Tänään olin kahvilla suomalaisen tytön kanssa, joka tuli tänne puoleksi vuodeksi merimieskirkolle töihin. Hauskaa :-) ( Annaseni tämä tyttö on myös asunut Lahdessa, onko mussa joku Lahti magneetti :-D) 

Eilen käytiin rentoutumassa Aqua saunassa kahdeksi tunniksi. Angelo antoi mulle synttärilahjaksi lahjakortin sinne ja nyt päätin et se pitää käyttää ja heti! Meitä odotti siel yksityinen tila jossa oli infrapunasauna, tavallinen sauna, turkkilainen sauna, uima-allas sekä poreallas! 

Ihanaa. Rentouttavaa. Mahtavaa. Tonne pitää mennä pian uudestaan! Parasta on että se on vain vartin kävelymatkan päässä. 

// Today I had coffee with a Finnish girl who came to work at the seaman's church for 6 months. How fun :-)

Yesterday we went to Aqua sauna to relax and rest for two hours. Angelo gave me a gift card to there for my birthday and now I decided to use it. We entered a totally private area with an infrared sauna cabine, a Turkish steam cabine, a Finnish sauna, a swimming pool and a jacuzzi. 

Amazing. Relaxing. Perfect. We totally have to go again soon! The best thing is that it's only a 15 min walk to there.

Cinema valentine

Me vietettiin ystävänpäivää aika kylmissä merkeissä tänä vuonna. Antwerpenin kaupunki järjestää joka vuosi jo parin vuoden ajan elokuvaillan keskustassa, ULKONA. Siellä näytetään paikallinen elokuva, teemana tietysti rakkaus! Sinne piti siis päästä! 

Me oltiin mukavasti ajoissa että saatiin valita hyvät paikat, käytiin ostamassa peitto ja kuumaa juomaa. Siel me sit värjöteltiin yhdessä peiton alla pipot niin alhaalla kuin mahdollista ja syötiin popparia. Elokuva oli ihan hitsin hauska! Varpaat oli aika jäässä lopulta, mutta ei se haitannut yhtään :-) Ihana idea, ihana ilta ja ihana seura <3 Ensi vuonna uudestaan, eikö Angelo? 

// We celebrated valentine's day in a cold way this year. The city of Antwerp organizes every year for a few years now a movie night, OUTSIDE. They always give out a local romantic movie. We just had to go there!

We were quite early so we got to choose good seats. Then we went to buy a blanket, some hot drinks and popcorn of course. There we were shivering together under the blanket with our hats tucked in as deep as possible. The movie was hilarious! My toes were totally frozen in the end, but it didn't bother me at all :-) What a great idea, great evening and the greatest company <3 Next year again, right Angelo? 

 

Pretty nails

Käväisin eilen töiden jälkeen Kaijan luona ja se olikin oikeestaan tosi hauska idea käydä kyläilemässä keskellä viikkoa! Siitä sai ihan uutta puhtia loppu viikkoon ja saatiin sitten taas juoruttua mukavasti pari tuntia ;-) 

Kaija siinä sitten innostui lakkaamaan mun kynnet ja lopputulos on ihana! Niin söpöt kynnet nyt että töissä vaan katselin niitä ja työkaverit jo alko kysymäänki et onkos kynnet viel hyvät jos vähänki tein jotain ;-) 

Sain muuten sunnuntaille varattua saunan, jos se olis sitten se meidän ystävänpäivä jutska :-) Huomenna kuitenkin jotain pientä kivaa luvassa. Jos saan otettua kuvia ni laitan niitä sit tänne!

// Yesterady I went to visit my friend Kaija after work and it turned out to be a really great thing to do in the middle of the week! I got totally new energy for the rest of the week. We gossiped away for a few hours and it was so much fun :-)

Kaija wanted to do my nails at some point and I was totally in to it. The result is awesome! My nails are so cute now that I spent all day today at work looking at them which lead to my colleagues asking me all the time if the nails were still ok after I did something ;-)

I managed to reserve the sauna for us for Sunday, maybe that will be our valentine's day thing :-) Tomorrow we will do something fun too though, if I manage to take pictures I will put them here.
