Käytiin viikko sitten kaupungilla kun siellä oli meneillään Food Truck Festival. Nimi kertookin jo kaiken, eli katuruokaa! Siellä oli monenlaista maisteltavaa eri maista, eri makuja, isompia tai pienempiä annoksia. Me maisteltiin muutamia ruokia, mutta lopulta ne oli aika kalliita kun jokaisesta annoksesta sai maksaa 6 euroa. Mutta ne mitä maisteltiin, olivat kyllä todella hyviä.
Enpä ole ennen bongannut tätä konseptia täällä päin, mutta saa ehdottomasti tulla uudestaan! Tän postauksen piti tulla jo viime viikolla ulos, mutta ollaan koko viikkoa taisteltu netin kanssa joten se sitten jäi. Nyt netti toimii taas ja Netflix laulaa. (Jep vihdoin se on rantautunut Belgiaan!).
// We went to the city about a week ago when there was this thing called Food Truck Festival. The name says it all already, street food! There were plenty of things to choose from, from different countries, different flavours, bigger and smaller portions. We tasted a few things, but in the end it was quite expensive when one portion was 6 euros. But what we took, was really delicious.
It's the first time I see this kind of thing around here, but it can definitely come again! This post was supposed to come out last week already, but we have been struggling with Internet all week. But now it works again and my Netflix is on 24/7 (Yep, it finally came to Belgium!).
Syyskuun alkaessa aloin miettiä että menipäs se kesä nopeasti, tulikohan sitä tehtyä yhtään mitään? Belgiassa kesäkuu oli hieno, heinäkuu oli hiostava ja elokuu sateisin 50 vuoteen. Mitäs mä muistan kesästä? No ne sateet tietysti. Ja Suomen mahtavat kelit!
Meillä oli toukokuussa paljon hässäkkää kun häät olivat ihan kuun alussa ja sen jälkeen alkoi laskenta häämatkaan. Kesäkuun puolessa välissä koitti vihdoin kovin odotettu matka Turkkiin. Aivan mahtava matka, hienot maisemat, ilmat, ruoka ja juomat. Sen jälkeen paluu arkeen kolmen viikon ajaksi sillä heinäkuun lopussa otettiin nokka kohti Suomea. Jälleen hieno loma, paljon uimista ja grillailua.
Elokuu tuntui jo syksyiseltä eikä lomailu oikeen innostanut huonossa säässä. Laitoin jopa lämmityksen päälle yksi ilta kun sormet olivat aivan kohmeessa! Kamalaa. Elokuussa tein kuitenkin kaksi kivaa kaupunkiretkeä, ensin Kortrijkiin ja sitten Bredaan (Hollanti).
Syyskuu on nyt alkanut ja ilmat muuttuivat ihan kesäisiksi! Kävimme tänään parin tunnin pyöräretkellä, ihmeteltiin aurinkoa ja 23 asteen lämpötiloja sekä kauppoja jotka olivat Antwerpenissa auki sunnuntaina! Ilmeisesti kaupunki yrittää sellaista kokeilua että kuun ensimmäisenä sunnuntaina kaupat olisivat auki, ja se tuntui olevan hyvin suosittu. Ehkä se johtui hienosta kelistä. Erittäin onnistunut sunnuntai joka tapauksessa!

// September is here and I started to realize how fast the summer went by, did I even do anything? In Belgium June was good, July was hot and August the most rainy in the last 50 years. What do I remember from this summer? The rain of course. And the great weather in Finland!
We had a lot going on at the beginning of May when we got married and after that we started the countdown to our honeymoon. Mid-June our well-deserved trip to Turkey started. It was an amazing holiday with nice scenery, good weather, delicious food and drinks. After that we returned to work for three weeks before we left to Finland for a week. Again a wonderful trip with lots of swimming and good food.
August felt like autumn and we didn't feel like doing anything in such bad weather. I even put on the heater one evening when I couldn't feel my fingers anymore. Horrible. Nevertheless I did two nice city trips to Kortrijk and to Breda (Holland).
September came and the weather totally changed! It feels like summer again and today we took advantage of that and went for a few hour bike trip. We were enjoying the sun, the 23 degree temperatures and the shops that were open on a Sunday in Antwerpen. They are trying out this new thing where they open the stores every first Sunday of the month and today it seemed popular. Could have been due to the weather though. But a very nice Sunday altogether!
