Tasting the sweet taste of Champagne

Nyt alkaa elämä rauhoittua ja asettua paikoilleen uudessa asunnossa. Muutosta on nyt kulunut pari viikkoa ja koti alkaa tuntua kodilta. Eilen saatiin viimeiset verhot ripustettua joten olohuone alkaa olla mattoa vaille valmis. Olen makoillut viime viikolla sohvalla ja ajatellut että onko tämä meidän asunto... Kai se vie oman aikansa totutella, varsinkin kun tämä uusi on niin monta sataa kertaa parempi kuin se edellinen. 

Kreikan matkan jälkeen ollaan oltu parilla pikku reissulla Ranskassa ja Saksassa. Aloitan nyt ensin kertomalla meidän vappu matkasta Champagneen Ranskassa. 

// My life is starting calm down and settle down in our new apartment. We moved a few weeks ago and it's only now starting to feel like home. Yesterday we hung the last curtains so the living room is ready except for a missing carpet. I've been laying down on the sofa the last weeks wondering if this really is our place... I guess it takes a while to get used to it especially since this apartment is a hundred times better than the previous one.

After our trip to Greece we have been to a few small escapes in France and in Germany. I will start by telling you about our trip to Champagne, France.

Me lähdettiin perjantai aamulla seitsemän muun kokkikurssilaisen kanssa kohti Ranskaa. Sinne meni noin 3,5 tuntia Antwerpenista, ei paha. Me suunnattiin Éperney:hin ensin ja käytiin yhdessä suuressa samppanjatalossa joka kuuluu Louis Vuitton Möet Hennessy yhtiöön. Siellä saatiin kuulokkeet korvilla esittely omalla kielellä miten he valmistavat shampanjansa. Kierroksen päätteeksi saatiin yhdet lasilliset maistiaiseksi, se kaikki 15 euron hintaan. Aika järkky hinta eikä se shampanjakaan kovin ihmeellistä ollut...

// We left on a Friday morning with seven other from our cooking class towards France. We drove about 3,5 hours from Antwerp, that was not bad at all. We headed to Épernay and went to one of the biggest Champagne houses there, Mercier. It belongs to the holding of Louis Vuitton Möet Hennessy. We got earplugs and a recording in our own language that spoke about how they make their Champagne as we had a little tour in the basement. Afterwards we got to taste one glass, which was, in my opinion, not so good. And that all for 15 EUR. Pretty expensive all that if you ask me...

Lauantaina suunnattiin ensin etana museoon. Meille kerrottiin hyvin yksityiskohtaisesti etanoista ja kaikesta mitä niihin liittyy. Sitten saatiin maistiaiset ja kaksi lasia shampanjaa kyytipojaksi. Ensin vähän arvuuttelin maistanko, mutta kyllä ne maittoi ja ostettiin kotiin purkillinen etanoita. Ne odottaa nyt jääkaapissa oikeaa hetkeä. Iltapäivällä vierailtiin pienemmässä shampanjatalossa Veuve Olivier & Fils. Kierros oli todella persoonallinen, koska omistaja itse näytti meille miten he valmistavat heidän shampajansa. Tämä olikin todella herkullista kuplivaa ja ostettiinkin laatikko kotiin vietäväksi. Suosittelen!

// On Saturday we headed first to a snail museum (escargot). We were told very in detail about snails and everything that goes around it. We got to taste some and pour it down with two glasses of Champagne. I was hesitating if I would taste or not, but I went for it anyway and it was delicious! We bought a bowl to take back home also and it's waiting in the fridge now for the right moment. In the afternoon we headed to another Champagne house called Veuve Olivier & Fils. The tour was very personal as the owner herself came to do it and tell us how they make their Champagne. It was very very good and we ended up buying a box to take home. Recommended!

Sunnuntaina ennenkuin lähdettiin kotia kohti vierailtiin vielä kolmannessa shampanjatalossa Ay nimisessä kylässä. Omistaja oli yksi mies ja hän teki kaiken itse rypäleiden puristamisesta pullojen korkittamiseen asti. Ainoastaan rypäleiden keräämisen hän jättää muille. Siellä on vain noin viikko tai kaksi aikaa kerätä kaikki rypäleet, joten kaikki kädet ovat tervetulleita siinä vaiheessa!

//On Sunday before we headed back home we went to visit a third Champagne house in a town called Ay. The owner was a man and he did everything by himself from squeezing the grapes to bottling the Champagne. The only thing he didn't do was to collect the grapes but as they only have a week or two to collect all grapes, I can imagine you need a set of hands extra do pull it off!

Matka oli huisin onnistunut vaikka sää olikin todella huono. Opimme paljon uutta ja mielenkiintoista asiaa ja saatiin paljon maistuvaa kuplivaa kotiinvietäväksi. Ei kuitenkaan kannata alkaa unelmoida sellaisesta shampanjatalosta, koska ensinnäkin vain sen alueen talot saavat kutsua juomaansa Champagne nimellä ja toiseksi yksi hehtaari maksaa 1,3 miljoonaa euroa... Jos joku talo ei jatka enää niin isot ostavat ne maat pois ja sekoittavat ne rypäleet omiin shampanjoihinsa. Ehkä pitää keksiä jotain muuta siis! :-)

// The whole trip was so successful even though the weather sucked. We learned so many new and interesting things and bought a lot of tasty Champagne to take home. It's best not to start dreaming about your own Champagne house though because first of all only the bubbles in that area are allowed to call their drink Champagne and secondly a hectare of ground there costs 1,3 million euros. If a house is left without a inheritor, the big houses buy their lands and mixes the drapes with theirs. So I guess I need another dream :-)

Greece - Chalkida

Mulla oli vielä pari kuvaa meidän pääsiäisreissulta. Matka meni kyllä tosi hyvin! Chalkida on noin tunnin ajomatkan päässä Ateenasta, joten sinne on aina helppo mennä. Paikka on ihanan moderni, siellä on jopa Zara, paljon ravintoloita ja kauppoja. 

Chalkida oli aika tavalla paikallisten suosiossa, ei juurikaan ollut ulkomaalaisia turisteja näkyvillä vaikka niitäkin ehkä joskus sinne eksyy. Kuulemma viime vuosina on näkynyt enemmän ja enemmän kun paikalliset jäävät sinne lomailemaan kesällä kun rahat ovat hiukan tiukilla. Ja mikäs siinä, rantaa riittää, turkoosinsinistä vettä ja aurinko porottaa siniseltä taivaalta. Miehini kertoi että kesäisin ne kävelymatkat ku me nyt tehtiin ei olisi mahdollista ilman ainakin neljää pulloa vettä, että oikeestaan oli kivakin kun oli vähän viileämpi. 

Ensi kerralla me kyllä suunnataan myös Ateenaan ja käydään pakolliset nähtävyydet läpi. Nyt ei ollut mitään intoa tai tarvetta lähteä kun tekemistä riitti muutenkin. Haluan pian takaisin näihin maisemiin!!

// I still had a few pictures from our Easter trip to Greece. The trip went so well! Chalkida is about an hour drive from Athens so it's easy to get to. The place is very modern, they even have Zara, loads of restaurants and stores.

Chalkida is very popular with the locals and we barely saw any foreign tourists hanging around though I believe some might end up coming there too in the summer. I heard that more and more now the locals stay there too for the summer since the money is a little bit short. And what's to complain, loads of beaches, turquoise water and full sun from blue sky! My husband told me that the walks we made now would not be possible without at least four bottles of water in the summer. So it was very nice it was a little colder this time. 

Next time we will head to Athens also and visit the famous places. Now we didn't want or need to go there as we had plenty to do there. I want to go back soon!!

Easter getaway

Meillä on riittänyt menoa viime viikoille oikein urakalla! Muutto on ensi viikolla ja sitä varten on kyllä paiskittu hommia oikein olan takaa. Me saatiin avaimet ja ryhdyttiin heti hommiin, vaikka ei mitään isoja remppajuttuja tarvinnutkaan tehdä niin kyllä siellä silti meni aikaa monta tuntia. 

// We have had quite a lot going on the last weeks! Our move is next week and we have been working really hard to get everything ready. We received the keys to the new place and started to work right away. Luckily we didn't have to do any major works there, but still we were busy for hours.

Ostettiin myös Ikeasta uusia huonekaluja oikein kunnolla ja niiden kokoamiseen meni koko pääsiäinen. Viimeisen vitriinikaapin kohdalla meinas hermo mennä sen verran että koko kaappi oli lähellä lentää ikkunasta ulos. Saatiin kuitenkin kuusi tuolia, ruokapöytä, kaksi kirjahyllyä, vitriinikaappia, kaksi naulakkoa, vuodeosohva ja vaatekaappi koottua ja siellä ne nyt seisoo valmiina. Ollaan niin innoissamme muutosta ettei mitään rajaa.

// We bought a lot of new furniture from Ikea and spent the whole Easter putting them together. I really came close to losing it during the last closet we were building and it was nearly flying through the window. We managed to build six chairs, a dining table, two book closets, bar closet, two coat racks, sofa bed and a closet for clothes. And there they are all ready wand waiting! We are so excited!

On se ihmeellistä miten paljon romua ihminen kerää vuosian saatossa kuitenkin. Ollaan asuttu tässä nyt kuusi vuotta ja joka kaapin perukoilta löytyi kyllä mitä ihmeellisempia juttuja jotka on vain pitänyt säästää. Onneksi osaan nyt jo heittää pois. 

// It's amazing how much junk a person can gather during the years. We have lived in this apartment for the past six years and every closet had the weirdest little things I've collected during the years. Thank God I can let go of them now and throw them away.

Tähän muuton keskelle me oltiin suunniteltu pieni loma tasapainottamaan stressiä. Mieheni isäpuoli muutti Kreikkaan eläkepäiviä viettämään ja me suunnattiinkin sinne suuntaan viettämään pääsiäistä. Ortodoksien pääsiäinen oli viikon myöhemmin tänä vuonna.

// We had planned a little getaway between all this to ease up the stress a little. My husband's stepfather moved to Greece to enjoy his retirement days so we headed down there to celebrate Easter. The orthodox Easter was a week later this year than our Easter.

Kreikkalaiset ovat kyllä aivan mahtavia ihmisiä. Niin avuliaita, ystävällisiä, äänekkäitä ja oikein todella kovia syömään. Söin kolme päivää aivan mielettömän hyvin, lammasta tietysti. Kerran lounastettiin meren äärellä myös, siitä paikasta tuli ihan heti mun numero yksi maailmassa. 

// The Greeks are such amazing people. They are so helpful, friendly, loud and really good eaters! I ate so good for three days long, lamb of course. Once we had lunch at this little restaurant at the sea and it instantly became my favorite place in the world.

Mä olen niin kiitollinen kun sain viettää Kreikassa pääsiäistä paikallisten tapaan. Perjantaina mentiin illalla kuuntelemaan saarnaa kirkkossa ja sitten käveltiin kadulla. Lauantaina keskiyöllä paasto vihdoin loppui, kaikilla oli kynttilät ja kun kirkossa julistettiin paasto loppuneeksi iso valomeri lähti liikkeelle kotia kohti ja sitten syötiinkiin kolmeen asti aamulla. Sunnuntaina aloitettiin jo keskipäivällä lampaan syöntiä jonka jälkeen laulettiin ja tanssittiin. Valtavan hieno kokemus. 

Onneksi voidaan mennä takaisin aina kun huvittaa, koska siellä kämpässä on tilaa ja mikä parasta se on vain 100m merenrannasta. :-) 

// I am so grateful that I got to spend the Easter in Greece like the locals do. On Friday we went to listen to the mass at the church and then we walked on the street with a bunch of people. On Saturday midnight we went back to the church, lid up candles and waited for the fasting finally to be over. When everyone left towards home it was so awesome to see that sea of candles moving. Then we ate like pigs until 3 o'clock in the night. On Sunday we started already in midday with lamb and afterwards continued with singing and dancing. What an awesome experience.

I am so lucky we can go back there whenever we want because the app has enough space and the best part is that it's only 100m from the sea :-)

Spring!

Onpas ollut kiireinen, mutta ihana viikonloppu!

Perjantai iltana minun kummityttöni syntyi vihdoin pitkän odotuksen jälkeen. Emma on aivan ihana söpöliini, joka hurmasi jokaisen vierailijan heti! Niin rauhallinen että! Nyt sitten mun hommat alkaa ja toivottavasti olen maailman paras kummitäti tälle ihanalle pallerolle. Teen ainakin parhaani, voi olla että hiukan verran hemmottelen häntä... Vähän vain :-D

Vaikka Emma oli jo tarpeeksi ihana uutinen tälle viikonlopulle, niin kyllä aurinko sai hymyn vielä leveämmäksi! Koko viikonlopun on paistanut siniseltä taivaalta ja tänään saatiin nauttia jopa 18 asteen lämpötiloista! Kevät on saapunut ja sen kyllä huomasi. Kaikki, ihan kaikki oli ulkona tänään. Puistossa, terassilla.. Missä vaan kuhan se oli ulkona! Alle olevat kuvat ovat viikonlopun kävelyreissulta puistossa.

Olen muuten nyt minäkin jäänyt koukkuun House Of Cards sarjaan josta kaikki on hehkuttanut... Suosittelen sitä kyllä kaikille, se on sen verran hyvä !!

// I have had such a busy but wonderful weekend!

Friday evening my godchild was finally born after a long long wait. Emma is such a cute baby and she charmed everyone right away who came to visit her! She was so calm! Now my job really begins and I hope I will be the best godmother ever to this awesome little child. I will do my best and I might spoil her just a little... Not too much :-D

Even though the news of Emma's birth was the most amazing thing ever, another thing got me smiling all weekend as well. The sun came out finally and the spring has really arrived! All weekend we have been enjoying blue sky and sunny moments and temperatures up to 18 degrees! Everyone who had the chance was outside today. At the park, on terraces.. Anywhere as long as it was outside! The pictures below are from our walk in the park this weekend.

I am by the way totally hooked on House of Cards show now.. Since everyone was talking about it, I started to watch it too and now I cannot stop. I recommend it to everyone, it is soooo good!

7 things about me

Ruut kirjotteli todella kauniisti 7 asiaa itsestään ja haastoi kaikki vastaamaan myös näihin syvällisiin kysymyksiin. Ajattelin että miksei näin perjantain ratoksi voisi vaikka tehdä vähän itsetutkistelua :-) Kiitos haasteesta Ruut!

1. Millainen olet? Juuri sinä, persoonana?

Mulle tulee ensimmäisenä mieleen että vaikea! Kuten Ruut myös totesi, on varmaan parempi kysyä tätä joltain muulta. Mutta omasta mielestäni olen luotettava, kiltti, über sosiaalinen, äänekäs, hauska, mutta myös itsepäinen ja kontrolloiva. Kai negatiivisiakin asioita saa mainita? :-)

2. Mitä olet saanut/tavoittanut bloggauksen myötä?

En ole niin aktiivinen bloggaaja jotta olisin tavoittanut jotain tän harrastuksen myötä. Mutta olen alkanut seuraamaan monta ihanaa blogia kuten juuri Ruutin blogia. Olen myös alkanut kiinnostumaan valokuvausesta, mutta vielä ei ole ollut tarpeeksi aikaa perehtyä siihen niin hyvin kuin haluaisin. 

3. Mikä on syvin pelkosi?

Asun kaukana perheestäni joten suurin pelkoni on että heille sattuu jotain ja olen niin kaukana. Tämä asia repii minua halki hyvinkin usein, yhä useammin viime aikoina. Tasan vuosi sitten tänään menetin hyvin tärkeän perheenjäsenen, enkä halua menettää yhtään enempää.

4. Mikä on bloggaamisessa sinulle haastavinta?

Keksiä mistä kirjoittaa. Tämä on onneksi vain oma harrastus, enkä halaja mihinkään isoon blogiyhteisöön kirjottelemaan. En edes yritä kilpailla toisten blogien kanssa lukijoista, joten en huolehdi jos jääkin monta viikkoa väliin enkä keksi jutun juurta.

5. Millainen toveri olet ystävillesi?

Pyrin olemaan luotettava, avulias ja ymmärtäväinen. Olen hyvä kuuntelija, mutta huono puhumaan omista asioista. En anna neuvoja, koska en ole hyvä siinä, mutta pyrin auttamaan ystäviäni löytämään oikean tien. Ennen muuttoa Belgiaan minulla oli monta kaveria, mutta hyvin vähän ystäviä. Täällä olo oli aika tyhjä aluksi, kun ei tutustunut ihmisiin niin nopeasti. Nyt minulla on kourallinen todella hyviä ystäviä, joista olen todella todella onnellinen. 

Muistellaan vieläkin parhaan ystäväni Kaijan kanssa sitä päivää kun me ensimmäistä kertaa tavattiin. Se päivä oli 8 vuotta sitten tammikuussa. Muutin 7 päivä tammikuuta Belgiaan ja aloitin hollannin kielikurssit kuun lopussa. Meitä oli jotakuinkin 15 (vai 20?) meidän luokalla ja jokaisen piti kertoa jotain itsestään ensimmäisellä tunnilla. Kaija oli ensimmäinen ja hän kertoi että tulee Virosta. Mun vuoroni tuli jossain keskivaiheilla ja sanoin "Hei, olen Hanna, olen suomalainen ja tulen istumaan sun viereen". Sen jälkeen ollaan oltu ihan erottamattomia! Hauskinta tässä oli vielä että me molemmat luultiin että toinen on Ruotsista eikä sen takia ensin sanottu mitään toisillemme. 

6. Kuvaa kotisi kolmella sanalla.

Kotoisa, sekamelska (muuton keskellä) ja puunsävyinen.

7. Millainen on unelmiesi aamu/herätys?

Haluan herätä pehmessä sängyssä omaan aikaan lintujen lauluun kun miehini tuo aamiaisen sänkyyn.

// I got challenged by Ruut to answer the following 7 questions about myself. I don't have anything better to do on a Friday night than to do some self searching. :-P

1. What kind of a person are you?

The first thing that comes to my mind is difficult! But like Ruut also said, it is probably better to ask this from someone else. But I think I am reliable, kind, über social, loud, funny (in my mind) but also stubborn and controlling. I guess I can mention negative things too? :-)

2. What have you received/achieved with your blog?

I am not a very active blogger so I haven't achieved anything with this hobby. But I have started to follow many wonderful blogs, like Ruut's blog. I have also picked up an interest in photography, but I haven't had enough time yet to fully focus on it.

3. What is your biggest fear?

I live far from my family so my biggest fear is if something would happen to them and I am all the way in Belgium. This tears me apart very often, even more so recently. Exactly one year ago I lost a very important member of my family, and I do not want to lose any more.

4. What is the most challenging in having a blog?

To come up with things to write about. Luckily it is just a hobby for me and I don't even desire to go write under some big blog community. I don't even try to compete about readers so I don't ever worry that sometimes I don't write anything for weeks. 

5. What kind of a friend are you?

I aim to be reliable, helpful and understanding. I am a good listener but bad in talking about my own feelings. I don't give advise, because I am not good at that, but I try to help my friends to get on the right path. Before I moved to Belgium I had a lot of pals but very few friends. I felt empty when I first arrived cuz it's hard to get to know people. But now I have a handful of great friends which I am very grateful of. 

We still think often about the day when I met my best friend Kaija for the first time. That day was 8 years ago in January. I moved to Belgium on the 7th of January and by the end of that month I started the Dutch language course. We were about 15 or 20 in that class and the first lesson everyone had to tell something about themselves. Kaija was the first one and she told she comes from Estonia. My turn was a little later and I said "Hi, I am Hanna and I'm Finnish and I am coming to sit next to you". We have been inseparable ever since. The funniest thing about the story is that we both thought the other one is Swedish so that's why we didn't talk earlier. haha.

6. Describe your home in three words.

Homey, a mess (in the middle of a move) and wood colour.

7. What would your dream morning be like?

I would love to wake up in a soft bed in my own time, to hear birds singing and have my husband bring me breakfast in bed.

New home

Me muutetaan!

Tämä tulee ehkä vähän puun takaa, koska me tykätään meidän asunnosta. Me ollaan kuitenkin jo viimeiset puoli vuotta yritetty etsiä jotain uutta suuntaa meidän elämään. Me päädyttiin sitten että uusi ympäristö olisi meille paras ja se toisi uuden pilkkeen silmäkulmaan. Ja sitä tarvitaan nyt.

Uusi asunto löytyi aika nopeasti. Mä selailin monen monta asuntoa läpi, koska meillä oli tiedossa ihan tarkalleen mitä me haluttiin. Valitsin kolme asuntoa - yksi oli jo mennyt, toinen oli varattu ja yksi nappasi. Se viimeinen asunto oli vasta juuri sinä aamuna laitettu nettiin ja mä soitinkin ekana. 

Me käytiin sitä katsomassa sitten. Paikka oli hyvä, asunto isompi kuin meidän nykyinen ja siihen kuului kellari sekä autotalli. Me oltiin ihan myyty. Siinä on kolme makkaria, iso keittiö sekä olkkari, kylpyhuone sekä vessa. 

Me ollaan selattu Ikean kuvasto läpi monta kertaa, surffailtu jokaisen huonekaluliikkeen sivuilla, kerätty ideoita Pinterestistä ja kierrelty kaupoissa. Kyllä nyt alkaa olla sellanen varma kuva minkälainen meidän uusi koti tulee olemaan, ja ollaan kyllä todella innoissamme!

Muuttamiseen liittyy kyllä hirveästi hoitamista, mutta jos se tällä kertaa menis ihan sujuvasti ja ilman häslinkiä. Varmaan maaliskuun lopussa alkaa sellanen paniikki iskeä, mutta yritetään olla rauhallisina. :-)

Jännittävää on muuten myös että mun kummityttöni syntyy ihan näillä näppäimillä, ihanaa!!! :-)

// We are moving!

This probably comes as a surprise because we really like our current apartment. We have however searched for a new direction in our lives for the past six months. We then decided that a new environment might just be the thing we need and it would bring the sparkle back in our lives. And we really need it now.

We found the new apartment quite easily. The location was good, the apartment bigger and it has a basement and a garage. We were sold immediately. It has three bedrooms, big kitchen, big living, a bathroom and an apart toilet. 

We have flipped through the Ikea catalogue several times, surfed on the website of every single furniture store in the neighborhood, picked up ideas from Pinterest and visited stores. We have quite a good idea now how we want our new home to look like and we are so excited!

There's so many things we need to think about when we move, let's hope it goes smooth this time and without hassle. Probably at the end of March I will start to panic, but let's try to stay calm :-)

Also very exciting, my godchild will be born any day now, so awesome!! :-)

Baby Bump Bash

Järjestin lauantaina pienet juhlat parhaalle ystävälleni joka on raskaana. Hän odottaa minun kummityttöäni, ja se jos jokin on hyvä syy juhlia! Meitä oli pieni 8 hengen joukko, mutta kyllä meistä ääntä lähti isommankin joukun edestä!

Mä olin miettinyt pari hauskaa leikkiä ajankuluksi. Pinterestistä saa tosi paljon kivoja ideoita jos joku vielä etsii! Mä annoin vieraiden arvuutella kuinka iso tulevan äidin masu jo oli. Siinä meni jotkut aika pahasti metsään, mutta onneksi sille jaksettiin nauraa kuitenkin :-) Sitten mietittiin koskas se vauveli sitten oikeen syntyykään, sitä on sitten jälkeepäin hauska katsella ketä oli lähimpänä. Olin myös askarrellut kortteja, joissa on kaikenlaisia toiveita vauvalle. Vieraat ottivat ne mukaan kotiin täytettäväksi ja palauttavat ne sitten täytettynä toivottavasti piakkoin! Viimeisenä leikkinä olin salakavalasti kerännyt vauvan äidistä ja isästä vauvakuvia ja sujautin mukaan myös omia ja julkkiksia vaipoissa ja ei ku arvailemaan! Tästä vasta hyvät naurut saatiinkin kun jotkut olivat varmoja että kuvassa oli äiti, mutta se olikin isi lopulta! 

Tarjoilin kolme eri piirakkaa ja salaattia aluksi ja sitten olin tilannut kuppikakkuja jälkkäriksi. Päivää ennen juhlia miehini keksi tehdä vielä Cake Pop - kakkuja. Niiden tekeminen oli ihan todella hauskaa, eikä todellakaan vaikeaa (me käytettiin valmista kakkua ja mascarponea kakkutaikinana). Me pistettiin ne pystyyn styroksiin ja sitten miehini keksi myös koristella sen että se näyttäisi kivalta. Oli hauskaa katsella ja seurata kun hän askarteli kauniin metsän niiden kakkujen ympärille :-) 

// I organized a little party for my best friend who is pregnant. She is carrying my godchild so if that isn't a good reason to celebrate, I don't know what is! A small group of 8 women came over to my place, but by the sound of it we could have been with double the amount!

I had came up with a few games to pass the time. You can find a lot of fun ideas on Pinterest, if someone is looking. First I let everyone guess how big the mommy-to-be's tummy is. Some totally guessed horribly wrong, but I am glad that everyone could still laugh about it :-) Then we wondered when the baby will be born, it will be fun to look at afterwards who guessed right. I had also made cards with wishes for the baby. The guests could take them home, fill them in and return them to the baby's mommy later. The last game was the funniest! I had collected baby photos of the baby's mommy and daddy, mixed with my own baby photos and those of celebrities. Then we started guessing! We laughed so good when most of the guests were sure it was mommy on the pic but it was actually the daddy!

I served three different salty pies and salad to start with and for dessert I had ordered some cupcakes. The day before the party my husband thought about making Cake Pops. It was SO much fun to make them and absolutely not difficult (we used already made cake and mascarpone for the dough). We put them up and then my husband thought it'd be a great idea to decorate the surroundings to look nice. It was so nice to watch and follow him put up this pretty forest around the delicious cakes :-)
